Even Better than James Franco & Anne Hathaway: Ronald Reagan & Jayne Mansfield

By Jason Apuzzo. My favorite part of this video? The way Mansfield tosses away the envelope.

Enjoy the Oscars this weekend, assuming you consider that possible.

  1. I love when Jayne says, “down to business.” I am sure this term had many meanings for her and the audience.

Also, they dressed like adults then, ALL the men in dinner jackets, black tie…and tasteful gowns for the ladies. While the women seem to have kept to tradition, some contemporary male attendees think it is somehow cool to look like teenage boys at some high school dance with rather ugly suits or less.

The Oscars just do not have the glamor anymore. Today’s stars look rather ordinary and their talents cannot match those from Hollywood’s past.

    1. Down to business, indeed … 🙂

One of the key differences also is that the stars actually dressed themselves back in the day, rather than the situation we have now in which armies of designers and stylists put these ‘stars’ through a kind of glamor-assembly line.
