Here I am commenting again. Just wanted to say how great it is that this film is doing so well. According to the latest news it is the top grossing film this week. Expect it has a lot to do with the fact that the young star, Jaden Smith, appears to have done a fabulous job. He looks great in these photos - I especially like the one where he does the equivalent of a split standing up. Didn't know that was possible! A new star is born. Let's hope he is still able to have a normal childhood. So many child stars don't and suffer when they become adults (Michael Jackson is one of the saddest examples of this.) Jaden Smith seems to come from a wonderful family, however, so things may work out well for him.

This 'review' was hilarious, yet made your point. I look forward to more good work.

First Jacques de Molay, now People's Film Commissar Wo Fat (I guess this is a Hawaii Five-O reference?). A most interesting group of critics, Jason!

Seriously though - it just makes me wonder: if the film has any criticism at all of China with the Chinese bullies, then the Chinese won't want to see the film and Sony won't make the money they were hoping for. If it criticizes America too much though, as it seems to from some of the comments about corporate layoffs and electricity, then Americans won't like the film and won't see it. Seems like Sony may have shot themselves in the foot by trying to please both sides.

Good day, comrade Apuzzo. My name is Xueing Xhan, People's Republic Bank manager in charge of overseas loan. Am not amused by pretend stereotype Chinese critic satire or plug of capitalist propaganda movie Red Dawn. Thanks to PRC wise investment in helping elect your President Clinton - who pay us back by starting imperialist housing bubble - we now own all of California. If website publish further lies concerning sacred socialist motherland, we foreclose you butt.

"The revolution is not a dinner party - unless you are in Hollywood!" Chairman Mao Tse-Tung.

My goodness Jason, you are indeed finding interesting reviewers for your website. Talk about diversity and the promotion of different viewpoints. This was a fascinating take on "The Karate Kid". (Why do so many film producers remaking classics feel they have the right to make so many changes to the basic story??? This is a question that needs to be tackled head on by Libertas. So far your writers have demonstrated that this is being done in the remakes of so many classic films, e.g., Govindini's review of "Clash of the Titans" and your post on "Red Dawn" spring to mind.) It also begs the question of "When is a remake not really a remake?" Do they have the right to just take the name and some of the characters and claim that it is really a remake of a classic? Shouldn't there be rules about how much you can change and still use the same name? It was shocking how many changes the producers of the latest "Clash of the Titans" had made to a story that comes from classic Greek literature.
