The first film with Daniel Craig, Casino Royale, was excellent. The second one was, in a word, dreadful. Quantum of Solace reverted back to the tired old Bond formula of impossible stunts and little in the way of characters. It was as if the director of Quantum of Solace didn’t even bother to watch Casino Royale. I’m hoping this one is much closer to Casino Royale.
James Bond 23. Put the franchise to bed already or go all the way back to the original material. When you have to put a Walter PPK and an Austin Martin DB5 in the film to remind people this is “James Bond” then why even call it that? The series has been so updated that it’s virtually unrecognizable anyway. It’s like putting a cow horns on your soy-steak entre to make it more authentic.
And what’s with Westley Crusher as “Q”? To quote your reviewer Patrica Ducey: “Icky”.
