The New Trailer for The Dictator; Film Debuts May 11th, 2012

By Jason Apuzzo. The first trailer is now out for Sacha Baron Cohen’s forthcoming comedy, The Dictator, and for the most part I like it. Cohen has obviously thrown political correctness out the window, and at first glance it looks like this film could be hilarious. Take a look, and judge for yourself …

  1. I laughed out loud throughout this trailer — can’t wait for the film.

By the way, Jason … I just got the first proof for my book, and I’m giving it a final look. It will be available for sale in days. Thanks, again for your interest.

    1. When I next do an Invasion Alert, Vince, make sure to post a link! I’ll probably be doing an Invasion Alert soon after the Prometheus trailer debuts …

  2. I want this to be good. On one hand I’m skeptical because it seems to follow the Borat(hilarious)/Bruno(retread) story line. On the other hand that’s what great movie comedians do. Think of the Three Stooges, Peter Sellars as The Pink Panther and others. They repeat the same hilarious character.

    1. Not all the gags worked for me in the trailer – his timing seemed a little off. At the same time, the movie overall looks funny, and the American comedy scene looks so lame and timid in comparison to what he does.
